What Dreams Have Gone?

What were you childhood dreams. You have ten seconds to answer!

TIME!!!

For me, ten seconds wasn't long enough. Maybe my old brain is moving slowly these days. Or maybe something has died inside of me. I hope you did better.

I recently watched a video of Dr. Randy Pausch's last lecture at Carnegie Mellon on really achieving your childhood dreams, and that's what has got me thinking. Why don't you give it a look. It's an hour and sixteen minutes well spent. Sure, you could watch the news, or maybe a couple sitcoms, maybe one sitcom and mow the lawn. Quick trip to the donut shop, buy a dozen, eat two, save the rest for later, clip your nails, and have sex. It's really your choice how you spend your time, and who am I to say.

Is there fun in your life? Joy? Are you loving others as you truly wish to? Where is your focus? Inwards? Outwards?

Are you planning on living forever? If you have kids, how do you want them to remember you? How do you want to shape and influence them? If you have a spouse, what are they going to miss about you? What do you NEED to get done in the time that's left you?

When you die (and you will), are you going to wish you'd spent more time at work?

Oh yes, I remembered a dream - I want to be a writer. Welcome, and onwards.

Cheers,

HVT.
